Our first excerpt is from the book Eugenics and Sex Harmony. From the late 1800's till the early 1900's, the study of Eugenics was a popular madness, derived in part from very little knowledge of genetics and a lot of ignorance on the part of the "scientific" community. These are the people who brought you ideas like "masturbation causes blindness" and the like. In this chapter, we learn about that pesky "third sex" - that of the homosexual, and how boarding schools are a hotbed of homosexual behavior!

The 1960s saw a great proliferation of "pulp" books. These 4.25"x6.375" paperback wonders contained everything from erotic gay fiction to warnings of the dreaded oncoming of the Homosexual Generation. We at morons.org, ever vigilant in our quest to point out stupidity, will be bringing some choice chapters online in the months to come (and probably more quickly once there's a scanner and some OCR software here).

First we have an excerpt from anti-gay radical Lee Dorian's book The Anatomy of a Homosexual. Dorian wrote several books on the subject in the mid-to-late 60s which were published by L.S. Publications Corp. Our first edition copy of this one starts out with a melodramatic introduction titled The Homosexual As Criminal and tells of a young homosexual killing a club owner who had requested a lashing with scissors. We suspect that most of this book is exaggerated at best, and entirely contrived at worst. Take a look at Narcissism and Masturbation and notice how most of the quotes sound like they're in the author's own written style. We suspect Mr Dorian had a few latent desires he needed to work out...

Another crazy L.S. Publications author in the 1960's was Ken Worthy. He brings us the enlightened story of The Homosexual Generation. According to the front cover:

Told - For The First Time - The Real Story Behind What Might Easily Become, Not the “Beat Generation”, Not The “Lost Generation”...But The Sick, Sick, Sick Homosexual Generation!

Apparently the homosexual generation was Sick a total of three times! The back cover bemoans that Illinois has already removed criminal sanctions against private homosexual acts between consenting adults...A similar law was barely defeated in the New York state legislature... My, how far we have come as a society.

For your reading pleasure, here is Chapter 6 from that book, The Day I Bought a Soldier, which decries homosexuality in the armed forces. This chapter is especially interesting because the Vietnam war was going on at the time. It goes so far as to suggest that the loss of the Korean war may have been due in part to homosexuals in the military. The typos and grammar errors are duplicated exactly as they appear in the text (perhaps Ken was wanking?). Note how Ken seems to know a lot of places where one can pick up a soldier boy. Sucky sucky five dollah!

Also allow us to present Chapter 16, A Homosexual Handbook, which supposedly describes the jargon those nasty rectal-loving homosexuals use.

Dr. David Keller published a series of Sex Ed books in 1928 that were suprisingly frank and ahead of their time-- to a point. In The Homosexual Life he makes the radical assertion that homosexuals are born that way, but still seems to think that the only way one can truly be happy is to have a wife and kids, and that homosexuals are bound to be miserable and wretched or some other such nonsense. Note how much the nonsense sounds a lot like Dr Laura or the Christian Coalition's nonsense. At least Dr Keller had the excuse that he was writing in the 1920's.
